Simultaneous H2/H∞ optimal control: The state feedback case

چکیده
A b g r a a A simultaneous H2/H® control problem is considered. This problem seeks to minimize the H 2 norm of a closed-loop transfer matrix while simultaneously satisfying a prescribed H~ norm bound on some other closed-loop transfer matrix by utilizing dynamic state feedback controllers. Such a problem was formulated earlier by Rotea and Khargonekar (Automatica, 27, 307-316, 1991) who considered only so called regular problems. Here, for a class of singular problems, necessary and sufficient conditions are established so that the posed simultaneous H2/H~ problem is solvable by using state feedback controllers. The class of singular problems considered have a left invertible transfer function matrix from the control input to the controlled output which is used for the H 2 norm performance measure. This class of problems subsumes the class of regular problems.

Design of Optimal Mixed H 2 / H m Static State Feedback Controllers
Despite the recent advances in robust control theory, the robust performance problem formulated in the mixed H2/Hm framework largely remains an open problem. In this approach, one seeks a controller that minimizes the Hz norm of a closed-loop map over all admissible controllers while satisfying an H , constraint on another closed-loop map. Unlike the optimal H Z problem or the y-level sub-optim...
متن کاملSolving Path Following Problem for Car-Like Robot in the Presence of Sliding Effect via LMI Formulation
One of the main problems of car-like robot is robust path following in the presence of sliding effect. To tackle this problem, a robust mix H2/H∞ static state feedback control method is selected. This method is the well-known linear robust controller which is robust against external disturbance as well as model uncertainty. In this paper, the path following problem is formulated as linear matri...
متن کاملIntegrated damping parameter and control design in structural systems for H2 and H∞ specifications
The paper presents a linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based approach for the simultaneous optimal design of output feedback control gains and damping parameters in structural systems with collocated actuators and sensors. The proposed integrated design is based on simplified H2 and H∞ norm upper bound calculations for collocated structural systems. Using these upper bound results, the combined de...
متن کاملH2-optimal Control with Regional Pole Assignment via State Feedback
The design of H2-optimal control with regional pole assignment via state feedback in linear time-invariant systems is investigated. The aim is to find a state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system has the desired eigenvalues lying in some desired stable regions and attenuates the disturbance between the output vector and the disturbance vector. Based on a proposed result of param...
متن کاملNew results for H2 state feedback control of large-scale systems
In this paper, H2 state feedback control for large–scale systems is studied in a different approach from the existing methods. The attention is focused on the design of a near–optimal H2 controller which does not depend on the values of the small unknown weak coupling parameter. It is newly shown that the resulting controller in fact achieves O(ε) approximation of the optimal H2 cost.
